The regional model as a global concept
Claims for democracy, nationalism, populism: The people's protests particularly in world regions that had been exploited by colonialization and since the end of the 20th century even more unscrupulously by rampant globalization are getting aggressive in many places. They call for more democratic rights and for regional structures, which will be able to satisfy good life in the future. The Glärnisch Textil cooperative operates in a transparent way. RIt offers its production facilities and its cooperative concepts for regional imitation on a global basis. Because there are technical, social, cultural, ecological success factors to be taken into account. We are proud to share them with you.

Engineering for the regional construction of further production lines to process hemp
Technical success factors
Based on the current experience with our pilot plant mounted on truck platforms, we share the criteria below for smooth and efficient operations of a production line with an achievable performance of up to 8 tons / day of processed hemp straw. The production line has a working width of 2m along the entire process.
The hemp straw is passed over a series of rapidly rotating rollers, the straw being processed from long to short, from thick to thin and from fiber bundles to individual fibers. There are many technical do's and don'ts to be respected in this sequence, which we will be happy to reveal for your setup in your region.
In contrast to the original version, the production line offered within the engineering fulfills the essential aspects of performance, reliability and regular working conditions.
Composing the Production Line
Portioning Loader
From the opened bales the straw is given on portioning loader that brings the material into the opener. This portioning and loading unit contains a moving floor and a lifting unit. All mechanical parts are protected by heavy blends in order to avoid any blockage through straw in the mechanics.
The cost estimation for such a portioning loader made in your region is EUR 45’000.
Opener
The opener contains 1) the slow moving roller to portion the load again and 2) the fast moving horizontal large cutting roller 3) the vertical fast moving big propeller to throw out the material through the tunnel to the next roller. This opener is armed with a comprehensive, heavy, inner mantel, the portion roller and the big cutting roller.
The cost estimation for such an opener made in your region is EUR 65’000.
Hammering Roller
The 2nd roller is also a large roller with dull big heavy irons of different levels.
The cost estimation of this hammering roller made in you region is EUR 35’000.
Flyer
The 3rd roller shows still a large diameter, but smaller irons on it. This roller rolls in a closed mantel that provides particular exits a) for the fibres to continue and b) for the shives/wooden parts to stay below the roller.
The cost estimation of this flyer made in your region is EUR 30’000.
Central Unit
This key unit contains a smaller, but sophisticated roller with a particular sequence of flying knives. This roller supports the process of dividing the fibres to single fibres. This component will be delivered by us from Switzerland.
The cost estimation for this central unit is EUR 50’000.
Cleaning Unit 1 (“Stufenreiniger” La Roche)
Cleaning unit 1 contains 5 rollers which shake and blow the fibres upwards and let the wooden parts fall out.
The cost expectation for this unit built in your region is EUR 40’000.
Guillotine Fibre Cutting Machine from Jinan Morinte Machinery
As part of the cottonization of the fibres, they must be cut to 25 to 40 mm. There is an appropriate machine available in China at Jinan Morinte Machinery.
The cost expectation including transports to your site is EUR 15’000.
Cleaning Unit 2 (“UniClean B12” by Rieter Winterthur) or an Used Scribbler
We recommend an additional Cleaning Unit 2. Useful will be a new “UniClean B12” provided by Rieter Winterthur. Or a scribbler for combing and final cleaning is required.
The cost indication of such a unit is EUR 40’000.
Small Bale Pressing Unit
In order to press the resulting loads of fibres to bales of reasonable size a small bale press is required.
The cost expectation for such bale press is EUR 10’000.
Vacuum Cleaning Line with Sequence of Cyclones
In order to remove the shives (wooden parts) from all machines on a continuous basis, a long “vacuum cleaner” along the entire production line is needed. The shives are sucked from the bottom of the production components through various tubes, separated from shortest fibres and dust in a line of different cyclones and finally collected in a large container.
The cost indication of this vacuum line and the battery of cyclones is EUR 50’000.
Dust Absorption / Air Cleaning
In order to absorb the heavy dust, the entire line is set in a tunnel and the air is cleaned / the dust absorbed by an air cleaning unit.
The cost indication of this dust absorption and air cleaning line is EUR 40’000.
Power Supply Installation
The power supply installation contains all plugs and safety units for all the various engines:
The cost indication of the entire power network with comprehensive safety is EUR 50’000.
Various Aditional Equipment
Various means of transport: cost indication EUR 15’000
Various spare parts and motors: cost indication EUR 20’000
Mounting Rack and Tunnel with Service Doors
The whole installation will be mounted on a stable platform and in a rack with solid steel sheets on the back side and transparent glass sheets and sliding doors on the service side.
The cost estimation for such and rack and tunnel construction made in your region is EUR 30’000.
Design, Engineering, Logistics for the Installation of the Production Line
Design and planning: 2 person months, EUR 30’000
Procurement evaluation and support on site: 2 person months, EUR 30’000 + travel
Leading the installation and hand over to operations on site during mounting time EUR 30’000 + travel
Installation / mounting: 2 local workers during 3 months at local costs.
Transports and logistics to bring all equipment on installation site: EUR 15’000.
Contracting, Service and Support, Payment and Compensation Scheme
In order to allow us to produce the detailed construction plans and to start the evaluations of industry components with your cooperation we will be happy to set up and propose a contract for our engineering work as described just above in paragraph “Design, Engineering, Logistics…” A first up-front payment of EUR 20’000 will be due when signing that contract. The 2nd payment of EUR 10’000 will be due with the delivery of the plans. The 3rd payment of EUR 30’000 will be due during the evaluation of components and the ordering process with the suppliers. The 4th payment of EUR 30’000 will be due during the build of the production line.
For the phase of operations and production a separate agreement will be useful for both sides and shall be regulated and compensated through a separate contract for service and support.
